Since Dr. Woody founded the clinic in 1980, Ansley Animal Clinic has had a solid reputation of great, individual service.  This is one Atlanta’s most well respected small animal clinics.   Meet the veterinarians that have built our reputation.

Dr. Stephen Spook

Dr. Stephen Spook

Dr. Stephen Spook graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 and joined Ansley Animal Clinic shortly thereafter. He loves all aspects of veterinary medicine, with special interests in internal medicine, nutrition, and dermatology. Dr. Spook grew up in Tallahassee, FL and is an outdoor enthusiast. He is looking forward to the fly fishing, backpacking, and hiking opportunities the Atlanta area has to offer. Dr. Spook also enjoys following college football and basketball, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Brower

Dr. Joan Brower

Dr. Joan Brower graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. She joined Ansley Animal Clinic that same year. In 2008, Dr. Brower married Eric Myracle (a neighbor of Dr. Kearney). They have two dogs, Maggie and Abigail. And they have two sons, Jack and Matt. Dr. Brower’s enjoys gardening, long walks with her family, and dining at the many restaurants in Decatur.

Coates

Dr. Kelly Coates

Dr. Kelly Coates graduated in 2006 from University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. After completing a small animal medicine and surgery internship at Georgia Veterinary Specialists (GVS), Dr. Coates joined Ansley Animal Clinic in 2007. She and her husband Matt have a dog, Ferris, and two cats (Uddy and Orville). They both enjoy soccer, hiking, outdoor fun and traveling.

Hayes

Dr. Bridget Hayes

Dr. Bridget Hayes graduated from University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. She joined Ansley in 1996. Dr. Hayes is particularly enthusiastic about feline medicine. She and her husband Nelson have four cats: Haiku, Django, Durga, and Dante. Her handmade catnip toys are a big hit at home and the clinic. Dr. Hayes also enjoys origami, gardening and cooking.

Fireman

Dr. Kimberly Fireman

Dr. Kimberly Fireman received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia in May 2010, and joined Ansley Animal Clinic in September 2010. She and her husband David live in midtown with their cat, Rafi. Dr. Fireman enjoys cooking, dining, and spending time in Piedmont Park.

Dr. Adrienne Scott

Dr. Adrienne O. Scott

Dr. Adrienne Scott received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida in 2002. She joined Ansley Animal Clinic in January of 2011. Dr. Scott is originally from Massachusetts and has made Atlanta her home for the past 8 years. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, especially being able to preserve the human-animal bond. Her special medical interests include internal medicine and surgery, dermatology, feline medicine, and geriatric medicine. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, tennis, and traveling with animal rescue groups to provide veterinary care to rural communities. She currently has 2 orange tabby cats (Copper and Rusty) and enjoys fostering dogs when the need arises. (September 2012) Watch Dr. Scott's interview with Fox 5.

Wood

Dr. Elizabeth Wood

Dr. Elizabeth Wood received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida in 2004. Afterwards, she completed a year-long internship in surgery, internal medicine and emergency medicine at Georgia Veterinary Specialists. She practiced for 5 years in Sandy Springs before joining Ansley Animal Clinic in 2010. Her primary interests include dentistry, feline medicine and preventative medicine. She and her husband live in Midtown with their black lab, Shadow.

Brandley

Dr. Melissa Brandley

Dr. Melissa Brandley graduated from Purdue University Veterinary School in May 2008. She joined Ansley Animal Clinic in 2009. Dr. Brandley’s professional interests include ophthalmology, internal medicine, preventative medicine, and client communications. She enjoys competing in triathlons, softball, hiking and spending time with her dog, Mel.

Kearney

Dr. Gail Kearney

Dr. Gail Kearney (owner) graduated from University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. After working for several years in the Roswell area, Dr. Kearney joined Ansley Animal Clinic in 1994. In 2003, she was named as Practice Manager of the clinic and then became owner in 2008. Dr. Kearney enjoys life in Decatur with her husband and their two children, their cat (Cow) and two dogs (Bauer and Snickers). When not working at Ansley, Dr. Kearney loves gardening, cooking, and entertaining. And when that’s all done, she loves reading a good book on the porch swing. Dr. C.Scott Woody

Dr. C. Scott Woody

Dr. C. Scott Woody (founder) graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. Dr. Woody established Ansley Animal Clinic in 1980. Over the years, Dr. Woody’s efforts and leadership have made Ansley a distinguished and beloved small animal veterinary practice. Currently, Dr. Woody splits his time between Atlanta and Asheville, North Carolina, practicing vet medicine at Ansley part-time, mentoring the vets and staff, and seeing his long-time clients and their pets.
